HOW DO YOU SAND A FLOOR WITH A DRUM SANDER? 

Depending on the species of floor, in most cases sanding first with a 40 grit sanding belt, then 60 grit, then 100 grit is the best starting process. After this it is advise to clean or wipe the floor clean, then apply a coat of both stain and sealer. After this step the floor is then sanded again using a 320 grit. Your final step will be to add the last coat of sealer. 

While there are many techniques to sanding a wood floor and the process can greatly depend on many factors. Factors can include species of wood, condition of the floor that needs refinishing and finally the type of finish you desire.
