ONE SIZE, THREE DIFFERENT BELT BEHAVIORS
A rigid platen grind, slack-belt contour, and fine finishing pass place different demands on the belt. Select the construction for the contact method and work material before selecting grit.

DECISION GUIDE
This product currently offers aluminum oxide, premium ceramic, and AO J-flex. Zirconia is not a current selector option on this listing.
Available from 36–800 grit for wood, general metal fabrication, and progressive scratch refinement.
Available in selected 24–220 grits for aggressive grinding on steel and stainless with an appropriate high-pressure process.
A more flexible aluminum oxide backing in selected 120–600 grits for curves and slack-belt sanding rather than rigid-platen stock removal.
HOW TO USE IT
Heat control, pressure, belt speed, contact wheel or platen, and grit progression all affect the result.
Confirm the grinder requires a 2-inch × 72-inch belt and that the selected backing suits the platen, wheel, or slack section.
Inspect the belt and joint, then install, tension, and track it according to the grinder manual.
Start off the workpiece and verify stable tracking before grinding.
Use controlled pressure and keep the work moving to manage heat and the scratch pattern.
Clean and inspect between grit changes; move finer only after the prior scratches are removed.
Use the guarding, extraction or collection, personal protective equipment, training, and operating procedures required by the machine, abrasive product, work material, and workplace.
PRODUCT FAQ
Premium ceramic is the coarse hard-metal choice, aluminum oxide provides the broadest progression, and AO J-flex is the flexible choice for contours and slack-belt stages. The correct sequence depends on the steel, heat treatment, contact method, and finish target.
No zirconia option is currently listed in the live selector. The current choices are Aluminum Oxide, Premium Ceramic, and AO J-flex.
Aluminum oxide is listed from 36–800 grit, premium ceramic in selected 24–220 grits, and AO J-flex in selected 120–600 grits.
Use the flexible J-weight belt for contouring or slack-belt sanding where the belt needs to conform. It is not the first choice for heavy stock removal against a rigid platen.
Use a sharp belt, appropriate speed and pressure, controlled movement, and the cooling practices required for the material and shop process. Stop if the workpiece or belt is overheating.
