A LARGE DISC AMPLIFIES PAD AND INSTALLATION ERRORS

Center the disc on a flat compatible eight-inch attachment surface

The X-weight cloth and resin bond support demanding sanding, while the PSA liner provides direct attachment to a compatible clean pad or steel platen. Exact diameter, pad flatness, speed, work rest, pressure, and grit progression all matter.

01

Twenty discs per box

Every selected option contains 20 matching 8-inch cloth PSA discs.

02

Nine live grit choices

All variants use aluminum oxide, from coarse 36 grit through fine 400 grit.

03

Customer-verified rating

4.9 out of 5 from 11 reviews. Available review content appears below.

DECISION GUIDE

What should you verify before choosing?

The exact fit, abrasive construction, grit, machine setup, work material, and finish target all affect the result.

36–80 GRIT

Coarse shaping and stock removal

Use the least aggressive coarse grit that performs the required removal while preserving control near edges and corners.

120–180 GRIT

Intermediate scratch refinement

Use to remove the prior coarse scratch and prepare the surface for finer sanding or an appropriate finish system.

220–400 GRIT

Fine surface preparation

Use after the prior scratch is uniform. The final acceptable grit depends on the material, coating, adhesive, or finish that follows.

PSA CLOTH SYSTEM

X-weight cloth on a clean flat pad or platen

Center and press the disc evenly. A distorted, contaminated, overheated, or incorrect attachment surface can create poor adhesion or uneven sanding.

CLOTH PSA CONSTRUCTION

What are you buying—and what else does the system need?

Each disc combines abrasive grain, resin bond, X-weight cloth backing, and a pressure-sensitive adhesive liner. The compatible backup pad or steel platen, tool, and work support are separate parts of the sanding system.

ABRASIVE FACE

Grain and grit control the cutting stage

Use the live variant name as the product specification. Different grain families have different available ranges, and a higher-priced grain is not automatically right for every job.

RESIN BOND

The bond anchors grain to the cloth

Heat resistance does not remove system limits. Monitor temperature, loading, edge wear, backing condition, and any change in attachment during use.

X-WEIGHT CLOTH

Tough backing for demanding sanding

Cloth is more durable than lightweight paper in many heavy or edge-wear applications, but it is less compliant for fine paint-preparation work and must still match the pad and tool.

PSA LINER

Peel, center, press, and remove

Pressure-sensitive adhesive attaches directly to a clean compatible surface. It is not hook-and-loop, and a damaged, oily, dusty, overheated, or wrong-size pad can compromise the attachment.

PSA DISC SETUP

How to install a cloth PSA sanding disc

PSA VS. HOOK-AND-LOOP

Match the disc to the attachment surface

PSA uses adhesive contact across the back of the disc. Hook-and-loop uses mating textile faces. Do not place one system directly on the other unless the tool manufacturer approves a purpose-built interface.

Do not generalize wet-use claims. Use liquid only when the exact disc, adhesive, pad, machine, electrical setup, work material, and operating procedure are approved for it.

HOW TO USE IT

Install the eight-inch PSA disc without wrinkles or offset

Follow the machine and pad instructions for power isolation, diameter, speed, guarding, work rest, extraction, pressure, and disc removal.

  1. 01

Disconnect power and confirm the machine accepts an 8-inch cloth PSA disc and the selected grit.

  2. 02

Inspect and clean the pad or steel platen; it must be flat, dry, undamaged, and compatible.

  3. 03

Peel the liner, center the disc carefully, and press it flat from the center outward.

  4. 04

Run clear of the work and verify the disc is secure and true before a light test pass.

  5. 05

Use supported, controlled contact; stop fully before removing the disc or adjusting the work rest.

Use the guarding, extraction or collection, personal protective equipment, training, and operating procedures required by the machine, abrasive product, work material, and workplace.

Use it for

  • Compatible 8-inch disc sanders and PSA attachment surfaces
  • Flat sanding, edge shaping, and surface preparation
  • Wood or metal work qualified for aluminum oxide
  • Coarse removal through 400-grit refinement
  • Stationary-disc work with the required table, guard, and extraction

Do not use it for

  • A 6-inch, 9-inch, hook-and-loop-only, or otherwise incompatible pad
  • Using the unsupported side or prohibited area of a stationary disc
  • A wrinkled, off-center, damaged, or lifting disc
  • Wet sanding without explicit system approval
  • Using force instead of choosing an appropriate starting grit

PRODUCT FAQ

Questions before you choose?

What comes in each 8-inch cloth PSA disc order?

Each selected variant contains 20 matching 8-inch aluminum oxide cloth PSA discs in one grit.

Which grits are available?

The live selector offers 36, 60, 80, 120, 150, 180, 220, 320, and 400 grit.

What machines can use these discs?

Use only equipment with a compatible 8-inch PSA backup pad or steel platen that is approved for the cloth disc, speed, guarding, work support, material, and process.

Are these hook-and-loop discs?

No. They use pressure-sensitive adhesive and require a compatible clean PSA attachment surface.

How should I choose the starting grit?

Begin with the least aggressive grit that removes the defect or shapes the part efficiently, then use the intermediate stages needed to erase that scratch before the target finish.

What are the shipping and return terms?

Shipping methods, rates, and delivery estimates depend on the order and destination and are shown at checkout. The return policy provides a 30-day window for eligible unused items in original condition and packaging. Restrictions and return-shipping costs apply.
