Before polishing
Prepare the aluminum to a consistent scratch pattern appropriate for the finish goal. Confirm the polishing machine, arbor, wheel diameter, guard, clearance, and rated speed are compatible with every component. Inspect each wheel before mounting and use a separate clean wheel for each compound.
Basic process
- Clean and inspect the prepared aluminum surface.
- Cut with brown Tripoli on the orange airway wheel using controlled pressure, movement, and heat.
- Remove residue and inspect the surface before changing stages.
- Color with green rouge on the dedicated yellow airway wheel.
- Clean, inspect, and use liquid polish for final touch-up or later maintenance.
