PEEL, ALIGN, AND PRESS ONTO A PSA PAD
PSA means pressure-sensitive adhesive. The sticky backing attaches directly to a clean compatible pad, while the uninterrupted abrasive face provides full-surface contact.
The selected size and grit are supplied together in one box.
Both diameters are listed in 80, 100, 120, 150, 180, 220, 320, and 400 grit.

DECISION GUIDE
Fit the diameter to the backing pad and choose grit from the current scratch pattern, the work material, and the finish or coating manufacturer’s preparation requirements.
Choose only for a compatible 5-inch PSA backing pad that does not require an extraction-hole pattern.
Choose for a compatible 6-inch PSA pad and larger-panel work.
Use 80–100 for faster leveling, then 120–180 as progressively finer stages when the workpiece and finish schedule call for them.
Use for fine scratch refinement or approved between-stage preparation. Do not assume every stain, primer, or coating should be sanded to the finest available grit.
ORIGINAL PRODUCT SPECIFICATIONS, RETAINED
The product record specifies a premium C-weight paper backing with a resin bond and an anti-static top coat intended to resist loading.
Remove the release liner and press the sticky-back disc onto a clean compatible PSA pad.
There are no extraction holes. Do not use where the pad or dust-control system requires an aligned hole pattern.
Choose 5-inch or 6-inch and one of eight live grits from 80 through 400.
PSA DISC COMPATIBILITY
No. PSA discs bond to a smooth adhesive-compatible pad; hook-and-loop discs attach mechanically to a separate hook-face pad.
Peel the release liner, center the disc, and press the full face onto a clean compatible pad. Do not add a hook-and-loop interface between the disc and pad.
The solid abrasive face covers any holes in the pad. Use a no-hole setup only when the tool and dust-control method are appropriate for it.
A 5-inch or 6-inch random orbital, dual-action, rotary, platen, or stationary disc sander still needs the correct PSA backing pad and an approved speed range.
Dust, oil, old adhesive, edge damage, or an uneven pad can prevent full contact. Stop and inspect the pad if a correctly sized disc curls or lifts.
PROJECT-BASED GRIT GUIDE
Begin with the least aggressive grit that removes the current defect, then refine that scratch in controlled steps. The required endpoint depends on the substrate and the next coating or finishing operation.
Use for more aggressive dry sanding when the workpiece and tool can tolerate the scratch. Follow with the intermediate grit needed to remove it.
Use to reduce coarser scratches, blend repairs, and prepare wood or metal for a specified next step.
Use where the finish schedule calls for a finer scratch before primer, sealer, paint, or another finishing stage.
Use only when the substrate and coating instructions call for this range. Sanding wood too fine can change stain or finish absorption.
Loading note: The anti-static top coat is intended to resist loading, but no paper disc is clog-proof in every finish, resin, pressure, or heat condition. Replace a loaded disc and correct the process rather than forcing it.
HOW TO USE IT
Pad condition, alignment, rated speed, pressure, heat, and dust control affect disc retention and the finished scratch pattern.
Disconnect power or remove the battery and confirm disc diameter and PSA attachment.
Clean and inspect the backing pad; replace a damaged or contaminated pad.
Peel the release liner, center the disc, and press the full face firmly into place.
Follow the tool instructions for starting and stopping; verify that the disc runs flat, stays centered, and remains secure.
Sand with controlled movement and replace a loaded, torn, curled, overheated, or lifting disc. Stop to inspect the pad if lifting repeats.
Use the guarding, extraction or collection, personal protective equipment, training, and operating procedures required by the machine, abrasive product, work material, and workplace.
PRODUCT FAQ
PSA means pressure-sensitive adhesive. PSA, adhesive-back, and sticky-back are common names for discs that use a release liner and press directly onto a compatible PSA backing pad.
Each selected variant is a box of 100 discs in one diameter and one grit.
No. These are no-hole discs. They block through-pad extraction and should be used only where the tool, pad, and dust-control process are appropriate for a solid disc.
The current product record lists aluminum oxide discs for wood, ferrous alloys, and other metals in sanding, deburring, blending, and finishing work. Validate the complete process for the material.
Only if the sander has a compatible PSA backing pad in the selected diameter and does not require a particular extraction-hole pattern. These are not hook-and-loop discs.
Do not assume these discs are suitable for wet sanding. The current product record does not identify the backing as waterproof, so use them dry unless Maverick confirms the selected disc and the tool, pad, and process are all approved for wet use.
